James is a founding co-director of FairSquare, a human rights research and advocacy organisation that has a focus on accountability in sport and authoritarianism. James previously led Amnesty International's work on human rights concerns related to the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He previously worked for the British Foreign Office on the Middle East region. He researches and writes about human rights and western foreign policy, including for the European Council on Foreign Relations.

The firm Senogles & Co was established in North Wales in 1925 and so, with Geoff as its third generation, will soon be celebrating its centenary. He has focused mainly on expert witness work in recent decades, having testified in litigation and international arbitration on over 60 occasions – with mandates including Swiss-based clients FIFA, FIBA (basketball), European Club Association and the International Olympic Committee. Investigations and governance are part of the team’s workload. Geoff is (possibly) the only Welsh-speaking forensic accountant in practice in Switzerland!
