The Hull View: Crouch Review could breath fresh air into lifeblood of football
Football industry leader, broadcaster, Respect Ambassador and referee champion, Chris Hull, sees hope in the Crouch Review
NOW, more than any time in its history, football needs to pause and take stock of the people who matter the most in the game - the fans and their communities.
After more than a year of matches behind closed doors, we know that the game is soulless and a shadow of itself without fans. This report is both a timely and desperately needed opportunity to reset the game in favour of the fans.
All of the game’s stakeholders need to take advantage of this unique opportunity to ensure the custodians of our game move forward in a sustainable, transparent and collaborative way that is both community focused and inclusive.
Without fans, football is nothing and without fans the game is not a spectacle or interesting to television or sponsors - so how wonderful would it be in these challenging times for many to see the billions invested into the global game subsidise ticket prices for normal fans and get a fair deal for supporters across the World to get access to watch the teams they love. Fans will always be the heartbeat, backdrop, rhythm and lifeblood of our national game.
